frips (belgium)

Lovely blue blue blue blue card from Frips. It soothes my eyes.

kiera pannell (uk)

I checked Kiera's website and discovered that she is traveling in Europe at the moment-- Traveling with "pens and paper, my laptop and a mini-scanner" so that she can keep making, documenting, and sending mailart from where ever her travels take her!! That's dedication!

polona potokar (slovenia)

This is Polona's first attempt at mail art and she seems to have had a lot of fun with it. How cool it will be to watch her develop as a mail artist!

elizabeth parsons (usa)

There is a lovely collage on each side of this mailart card. I love the subdued-but-rich colors, especially the background of the heart. And it came with a bonus-- a small hand-painted flower card, which I will begin using as a bookmark immediately!

dr. brignone (italy)

I love the thoughtful pose and the wrinkled face of this gracefully-aged woman. Makes me wish I could know her in real life.

ainsley ryan (usa)

This drawing of a simple and solitary lighthouse is Ainsley's first attempt at Etegami. Good job, "Ains"!

rachel freeman (usa)

Something different from Rachel's usual style, the funny face made from markings on a metalic tape has hand-painted flowers on the side edges. The flower in the photo collage scanned as blue, but it really is purple.

angela behrendt (germany)

Mystery creature outlined in black stitching on white fabric, which is itself stitched to a thick card. On the back, Angela announces a mailart call on the topic: Pfeifenkoppe, "a being with a trill whistle in the mouth." Very intriguing.

grigori antonin (usa)

Collage mailart from Grigori. Thanks!

tomoaki kawashima (japan)

This etegami from Tomo depicts the mythical part-lion, part-dog SHISA, that can be found everywhere in Okinawa in images and statues.

guido vermeulen (belgium)

This folded card came with a nice long letter describing Guido's love of haiku and curiosity about the Japanese view of fish (not as food, but as a fellow living creature). Those two interests are obviously combined in this work.

wilma duguay (canada)

Quotes from Marcel Proust. Thanks, Wilma!

bifidus jones (usa)

I do so love Owl images! In Japan, these beautiful subdued colors would be called "shibui," (tastefully astringent) and the ability to appreciate this quality is considered a mark of maturity. "Older and Wiser" it says on the front side of the card. How perfect. : )

atsuko imakita (denmark)

A collage of strawberries and rhubarb with a recipe for jam! This wholesome food-themed card comes with the news that Atsuko is due to have her first baby in September. Congratulations!!
